I went out and picked some apples off my apple tree in the back yard and pulled out the "Fat Sisters Cookbook." This is a wonderful cookbook and let me tell you those fat sisters can cook! I followed the instructions to the best of my abilities and made probably one of the best apple pies I had ever tasted. I am sure that I was a bit bias but it was really good. I felt like the little red hen. I grew the apples, baked the pie and enjoyed it to my hearts content. Dosen't this shot of the finished product make you think it's about time for thanksgiving?

Good for you James! I like the little tart next to the pie! I think I need to find that Fat Sisters Cookbook... sounds good! We're doing a ward cookbook that I'm in charge of. When we hit 125 dessert recipes, someone commented that we are "a ward who loves their desserts!" I can't wait for our two apple trees to start producing. I planted them this year, so it will probably be a year or two before we get enough apples to make a pie with. I'm generally a cream pie person, but have come to like apple pie, but only when it's cold! Have a great day!
I am remembering that banana creme pie you hijacked to your bedroom at Thanskgiving when you were in high school! I wasn't sure what to think about you! (Still am not sure! Ha!)
Your cousin Craig was screaming for pie a few weeks ago. "I want pie!" Must be something genetic.
You are awesome....that looks so good! Lisa is lucky you are so domesticated:)
